Can we keep talking about this please?
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

We’re too busy listening to it again and again to talk about it. A stunning double album!

I remain emotionally conflicted about this. It's great to have it in somewhere near to pristine quality, but there's a visceral anger within me that it didn't go down in history as an official release, even in a watered down version of micks original vision. CR is fine as far as it goes, but what a difference this would have made in terms of the band's impact and legacy. Huge opportunity missed imo.

Yes please! Been listening to this non stop! Loved Marky’s version of Rat Patrol and felt that’d be as good as it got which would’ve been fine with me but very happy we finally have an Excellent quality version. As somebody born in the 90s it’s awesome experiencing a “new” Clash record.

I think I've listened to the album, or parts of it, at least once a day for the past week. I can't get enough of it!

A watered down version might almost be worse because the original vision wouldn't seem as drastically better by comparison.

Me too. I’ll never listen to combat rock again & I don’t mean that in any real negative way towards it but this is where it’s at for me. I was driving my kids to school this morning and I asked them what they wanted to listen to & they said the clash, so I bumped it there and rolled up with the windows down blaring IC with two 4 years olds boppin in the back & their teachers left wishing they had a copy 😆

I've been listening nonstop since it came out, it is an excellent album. Never thought we'd get it.

Between this, Mowhawk Revenge, and Marky's Vanilla Tapes, it's been a great couple of months so far.

That's funny how tracklist can change your point of a track or an entire album

straight to hell
I find the perfect sequence

Was just thinking if Mick's double LP had been released in '82, The Clash probably would have sold it for the price a single LP. Wouldn't that have extended the time needed to recoup beyond the US Festival (when they allegedly became debt-free)?

If so, could that have forced their hand to either:
1) Extend the 82/83 tour with more dates.
2) or turn around LP6 more quickly...by the end of 1983?
Hello? Go ahead, man. Yeah I'd just like to say, um, lets have some music now, huh? Ok, ok...thank you.

What is with Mick shouting stop towards the end of Red Angel Dragnet? I am enjoying this immensely! We have been waiting for almost 4 decades for this!

In the alternate time-line I want to live in Sandinista was a huge hit for the Clash. CBS was then fine with Mick's crazy triple LP set, Rat Patrol From Fort Brag! I have been playing this all day and it is just superb with the pristine RP tracks.

"You have the right to fish money"

It's such an odd phrase especially since Joe was vegetarian. Am I missing something with the meaning?
