Would anybody be on board for an incredibly ambitious project?
So I recently got a cheap secondhand audio interface off of eBay and planned on going through the entire Clash discography. Album by album, song by song, B side by B side and covering all of it. But, it has come to my attention that several of you play instruments yourselves. Now obviously, instead of just me banging along on the drums the music, it would be way better if we could get a full ensemble of musicians. I'm thinking of potentially recording a video on my iPhone and syncing it to the audio, but obviously depending upon how difficult that proves to be, I might be better off simply doing the drum track, so not really sure yet. If someone else on here plays the drums I would be more than happy to alternate back and forth between each song. The idea is moreso to complete this project that would encompass the ENTIRE Clash discography. Yes, this would even include Junkie Slip (sorry Hes).
So what do you say? It might take a few years but it sounds like a load of fun.

Would you use use on these colloboration sites for doing the tracks. They came to my attention a few years ago when I kept getting recommendations through my Audio Ammunition YouTube channel. I'm no musician myself but I thought it looked a good idea. Don't know if any are free or have a pay as you go model.

Sounds a great idea and I would love to hear the results.

It seems an incredibly ambitious project.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

It is !
it's a cool idea nonetheless, but it's a huge job for each musician, to which you have to add the time of recovery of the tracks, of mixing of mastering.
Anyway, you should already suggest a song to try
moreover, doing covers of the Clash is not easy, musically with a good drummer we can manage
But where it's going to be complicated I think it's for all the voices

The first three records I've played along to countless times. Sandinista and Combat Rock would probably give me the most difficulty. Again this wouldn't be something accomplished overnight. I'm thinking over the course of years moreso.bazarboy75 wrote: ↑22 May 2021, 10:24amIt is !
