IMCT is 20! Clash/related Releases and Bootlegs (2012-2022)

Post by matedog »

Not that IMCT has a direct connection with releases, but we do discuss and disseminate them around these parts.

Official releases:
  • Sound System (2013) - All albums with almost all b-sides, some previously unreleased outtakes and demos, live video/bootlegs, promo videos
The Clash Hits Back (2013) - Greatest hits comp released sort of in conjunction with Sound System sequence based on a 1982 setlist.
Strummer 001 (2018) - One disc comp of Strummer's non-Clash work, one disc of previously unreleased material
    London Calling 40th (2019) - mostly adds a scrapbook
The Magnificent Seven video (2019) - New video utilizing a lot of previously unseen Bonds footage
Notable Bootlegs:
  • London Calling multi-tracks
    GEER Demos (working mixes)
Rat Patrol from Fort Bragg upgrade
The "De-Bernie'd" Cut the Crap by Gerald (not really a bootleg, but noteworthy)
    1985-05-12 Busking Tour Sunderland flat
    Marky's great, ongoing remasters project
Let me know what I've missed!
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

As important in their own way as the Rat Patrol acetates.

I agree. Always exciting to hear something completely new, plus Marky worked his magic as always.

Probably his best salvage job ever. The original was nigh on unlistenable due to the sound dropping in and out.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board
