Where is England / This is England

Does anyone have more back story on this? Things I am interested in:
The timeline between the Where is England demo and the Cut the Crap recording.
Whether any other CTC songs have similar early demos.
Whether Where Is England could be used to deduce anything about the potential sound of CTC before it all went off the rails.
How much of the difference between the two songs is down to Joe's evolving desire for the Clash 2, and the Bernie factor.
Main thing I am interested in, is in a parallel universe would CTC be an actual coherent Clash album. Where is England feels like it is on a Rat Patrol like timeline, particularly for an early demo and particularly for a song that doesn't involve Mick
