Who wants to take care of the lossless 83 demos?

Post by IkarisOne »

I got 'em. Set something up that requires me to do next to nothing and I'll send them to you to make tracks of. I don't have time to deal with it right now.

Should have a first gen Roskilde ready this week too.

How do they sound compared to what's been previously circulated?

Can't really tell. The originals were pretty decent MP3s but I think you mixmasters will be able to do more with the higher bitrate.

The only track that is poor is "Three Card Trick" where the recorder was too close to the bass drum causing heavy distortion. Or maybe the volume had been knocked up in error. But yeah the better bitrate should help some.

Looking forward to seeing what GMan can do with them. Thanks for sharing them.

Yeah, thanks for getting these circulated in lossless CK, and thanks to all you techno wizards with your bleeps and bloops who will hopefully be gussying them up and sharing eventually.

So you want then to sound somewhere between The Prodigy and Soft Cell. Hey that's Cut the Crap! 🤣

I grabbed a copy of this too but I don't think I'll have the expertise to do anything with them. Lots of distortion in the low end.

Yes please I'm just interested if the higher bitrate will help with mixing. I have the mp3s and have worked on them a few times over the years. But they do suffer from distortion as you say. So maybe it won't be possible to improve much.
