Marky!! As always thanks yet again for your fine work! This sounds fantastic and I have been listening to it non-stop and have not even finished it! I keep playing the Vanilla sessions, really enjoying it for the first time as you managed to shed lots of the tape dampening and put some separation into the instrumentation!

The art work is spectacular! Your hypothetical singles really got me thinking of the alternate possibilities....

What if while completing the album the label said "hard no" on the double LP and insisted on a single LP release. So the band was forced to pair it down to a 12 song LP!!! This exercise has been discussed ad nauseum over Sandinista but damn doing this with London Calling would be brutal! So what tracks would you pick if you had to remove 7 songs from this masterpiece? I know this sounds contrary to the Clash's philosophy of value for your money but they also wanted to do a blitz of singles (kind of a rip off if you ask me) prior to Sandinista, that the label squashed. So in this alternate history, the label forces the band to release a 12 track single LP partly through compromising with the band, allowing them to release a blitz of 12" EPs with the remaining material.

Here is my stab at this challenge.

(12 Track LP)
London Calling
Hateful
Rudie Can't Fail
Spanish Bombs
The Right Profile
Lost in the Supermarket
Clampdown
The Guns of Brixton
Death or Glory
Koka Kola
Four Horsemen
I'm Not Down

(12" EP)
London Calling
Armigedeon Time
Jimmy Jazz

(12" EP)
Clampdown
Wrong 'Em Boyo
Revolution Rock

(12" EP)
Rudie Can't Fail
Justice Tonight/Kick It Over
Brand New Cadillac

(12" EP, non-LP A-side)
Train in Vain
Lover's Rock
The Card Cheat

So many great tracks and virtually every track on the album has singles potential. The only one of yours I don't think works to well is the "Rudie Can't Fail" one as "Justice Tonight/Kick It Over" has to be with "London Calling / Armagideon Time".

One other thing I will say that you've possibly overlooked is the fact that The Clash didn't release a double album. They released a single album that also included an 8/9 track 12".

So here's the original tracklisting.

A1 London Calling
A2 Brand New Cadillac
A3 Jimmy Jazz
A4 Hateful
A5 Rudie Can't Fail

B1 Spanish Bombs
B2 The Right Profile
B3 Lost In The Supermarket
B4 Clampdown
B5 The Guns Of Brixton

So this 10 track album only has one cover version on it.

So then this technically would've been the free 12".

C1 Wrong 'Em Boyo
C2 Death Or Glory
C3 Koka Kola
C4 The Card Cheat

D1 Lover's Rock
D2 Four Horsemen
D3 I'm Not Down
D4 Revolution Rock

With the bonus:
D5 Train In Vain

Glad you are enjoying my efforts, cheers.
