Abysmal. Even worse than Springsteen's shit version.

Re: Clash covers
I couldn't choose. Springsteen's was literally shit! when the "burning london" covers cd came out, i remember a nice version of clampdown by the Indigo Girls.

Re: Clash covers
Maybe that's true. My story came from a family friend who's ex-husband was involved with the whole shebang, but as neither were interested in The Clash their recollections might be vague to say the least. Pretty crap cover version anyway. Besides, I remember John Walters sitting in for Peel on occasion and playing old sessions he'd been involved in, rather than new stuff. Or have I got that wrong?Toppers Boppers wrote: ↑30 May 2023, 12:00pmI remember hearing it on the John Peel show, apparently it was a session track when John Walters was sitting in for him.dave202 wrote: ↑30 May 2023, 11:01amI have a copy of that. Re: Clash covers
Sounds correct to me, I reckon Tom Gribbin recorded GOB for the Peel show around the time of his visit to the UK for the Wembley C&W Festival in 1981.dave202 wrote: ↑31 May 2023, 11:01amMaybe that's true. The Scotch Bonnets are great
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
