Never occurred to me before but are there similarities between Paint it Black and Jimmy Jazz in terms of chord progression? Suppose King of spades would be the card cheat most likely.

It's an old Jazz chord progression though.
Oh yeah, i know this one but forgot who it was by so that would likely be the Funk number.

Can't confirm but that's most likely.

As for Paint It Black, maybe there is an actual Clash cover of the original awaiting release on the 50th anniversary of LC. Something for us to cling onto ;)

Yeah I did amend my post further up suggesting just that. But you were too fast for this old boy.

I'm in London on Wednesday, so hoping to go along to this. I'll ask if we can borrow the tapes :)

I wouldn't bother going to the trouble of asking mate, of course they'd obviously be delighted for you to have the tapes. Just bring a hammer or a brick with you in the event they're behind glass. You owe it to the fans!

I could always sell laxman my copies of the tapes for a tenner. They're not quite as good as both sides are blank but that tenner would come in handy.

Gotta be done mate! Micks been a rare beast these days so any chance to catch something he's doing I've got to go! Even though he's probably not going to be there just the fact he's doing something again makes me very happy.
