It's an old Jazz chord progression though.

As for Paint It Black, maybe there is an actual Clash cover of the original awaiting release on the 50th anniversary of LC. Something for us to cling ontoMarky Dread wrote: ↑02 Mar 2025, 9:18amCan't confirm but that's most likely.Low Down Low wrote: ↑02 Mar 2025, 9:06amOh yeah, i know this one but forgot who it was by so that would likely be the Funk number.Marky Dread wrote: ↑02 Mar 2025, 8:48amLow Down Low wrote: ↑02 Mar 2025, 8:40amNever occurred to me before but are there similarities between Paint it Black and Jimmy Jazz in terms of chord progression? Yeah I did amend my post further up suggesting just that. I'm in London on Wednesday, so hoping to go along to this. I'll ask if we can borrow the tapes :)

I wouldn't bother going to the trouble of asking mate, of course they'd obviously be delighted for you to have the tapes. Just bring a hammer or a brick with you in the event they're behind glass. You owe it to the fans!

I could always sell laxman my copies of the tapes for a tenner. They're not quite as good as both sides are blank but that tenner would come in handy.Low Down Low wrote: ↑02 Mar 2025, 11:00amI wouldn't bother going to the trouble of asking mate, of course they'd obviously be delighted for you to have the tapes. Gotta be done mate! Micks been a rare beast these days so any chance to catch something he's doing I've got to go! Even though he's probably not going to be there just the fact he's doing something again makes me very happy.Marky Dread wrote: ↑02 Mar 2025, 2:13pmmotorsmell wrote: ↑02 Mar 2025, 1:55pmTaking a day trip down to the smoke on the 11th...I'll take plenty of photos![]()
