Hammond Organ? B3?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Unlike the others, who were discredited.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I'm willing to bet Gluggo's only contribution was North and South, which is the only song that has actual keyboard playing and arrangement on it instead of mashing the keys with the palm of one's hand and doodling with the farting bugle sound presets. That's also the only song where the keyboard sort of fits instead of completely fucking up the song to hell. Rest of the album synth parts were almost certainly the work of "Young" Herman Wagner, who did get the Thanks-But-No-Thanks credit in the liner notes along with Michael 'Fayney' Fayne.

Given that Gluggo did some pretty fine arranging work in Topper's studio band not too long after I'm sure he just flew into Munich, took one look at what Bernie was doing, chucked out a half-assed contribution in one day, took his paycheck and got the fuck out of there as quickly as humanly possible before he got stuck with any of the rank smell or credits associated with that album. He's a professional...he would've known on-sight what kind of career suicide he would've been risking for his lucrative studio work if he stuck around. Why Norman Watt-Roy stayed for the whole recording doesn't make any sense, though, because he was in Gluggo's troupe. He must've been handsomely compensated AND had an agreement to not get publicly credited in any way, shape, or form for that debacle.

Hey don't forget the wicked Fingerpoppin' organ solo. :naughty:

A more than adequate assessment of a less than adequate period in the life of The Clash.
