Wow...CCR corrected speed
Wow...CCR corrected speed
I've been living with the 2000 US s/t and finally just downloaded the correct version of CCR. Makes a HUGE difference. Always loved it live... and I actually like the studio version now, too!
This new revelation just helps to confirm my belief that the Clash's peak was year and a half between the Clash and London Calling.

Wait, so what's supposed to be the running time of the studio cut?

Re: Wow...CCR corrected speed
The correct version is 3:56, the crap version is 3:50.
Re: Wow...CCR corrected speed
Mind posting the link?
Re: Wow...CCR corrected speed
Would rather not post it since it's an official release. It's on I-tunes for a buck though.
Re: Wow...CCR corrected speed
Oh okay...I was thinking that you just manually corrected the speed.
Re: Wow...CCR corrected speed
Nah, got it off Essential Clash. Apparently (according to wikipedia) if you have CCR on any release except the 2000 US S/T, you have the correct version.

Re: Wow...CCR corrected speed
I'm under the impression that I've heard 3 versions of CCR. One was just stupid fast, I think it was the 2000 US version, another was the original, and I thought there was another, corrected, yet still slightly fast version.
The "extra" version could have just been someone attempting to correct the speed, though.

Re: Wow...CCR corrected speed
I was going to counter this by listing a bunch of LC tracks but it doesn't matter, that is a mighty fine playlist.msza wrote:I've been living with the 2000 US s/t and finally just downloaded the correct version of CCR. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Really? I feel like that's one of the weaker tracks on GEER.msza wrote:8. Drug Stabbin TIme
