Awesome man. I'm a huge fan of Mick's style on this one. A cowboy/50's gangsta/rocker mix. Still impressed at 52...

Cool. I wonder if that’s a rehearsal pic or if it’s from the CTC sessions. Those were in winter so perhaps not.
That picture gives more credence to Paul not playing on the album. Does look like one of Paul's bass guitars though.
The also talked about him rarely showing up to rehearsals in the latter half of 84, so it could still be that. Pretty sure NWR is the main bass player on the album.
Yes NWR though I think Paul is on the B-side tracks to TIE.

I wonder if that's Munich or London. The big window definitely has the feel of a studio.

Edit:
Found this picture of  Weryton Studios. Could that window be the other side of this?
It certainly looks more like a recording studio with that viewing window, but do rehearsal spaces have viewing windows? Honestly, I have zero idea.

Oh, I do remember Vince talking about him popularizing biking to rehearsal in this book, though that could be anyone's bike.

I'm thinking far too much about this photo.
Wasn't Lucky 8 fitted out with a basic recording studio. Looks a bit rough for it to be Munich.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I'm trying to find info on Lucky 8 and am only finding reference to the November 83 recordings. Any idea where it is/was?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yes I believe so. I can't find any pictures of Werytron from the 80s so no idea how rough it looked back then. I think it was opened in the early 70s.

I thought they went back to Camden Stables/market, London where they previously had Rehearsal Rehearsals.
