I'm back to thinking that it's from 1980. Maybe Joe and Paul didn't get haircuts at the same time. Yes, Mick's hair does look like it does on Fridays. It also doesn't look staged since Topper isn't paying attention to the camera.
Looks very staged to me. Made to look like they are playing live.
Have they ever done staged photos of them pretending to play live? Other than those like 1976 rehearsal pics (which were probably them actually playing).
German magazine Bravo had the Sex Pistols stage a live pic. Also this one below of The Clash which I think is also staged.

Bravo was a poster magazine. Here's the Pistols one for what it's worth
That Clash one is assuredly photo-edited. It's a combo of other pics.
So it seems. Could still have been a staged shoot. It looks almost exactly like the Munich footage attire, but there are some crucial differences (Mick has a red shirt in the footage for example).

Regardless, staged "live" shots of the band were very very rare and probably even less likely in 1980 vs. 1977, so I'm still unconvinced that the mystery photo is staged.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah I think you are correct less staged and more fabricated.

Good catch, I should have verified the date.

History of Punk Rock should have verified the date. I spent too much time with bootlegs in the past so "March 30, 1980" immediately seemed wrong.

Yep, me too, even Google knew the correct date.

The dates that site attributes the pictures to seems to be wrong more often than not. I just enjoy seeing old pics of the Clash that I've never seen before.
