It's time we passed like strangers in the night.

Ive seen a couple variations of these in Smash Hits and Music Week and I still cant determine if the design's a deliberate lo-fi/punk approach, or just amateur. But then that sums up Cut The Crap.

I had read of the Clash marketing clothing the Paul had helped design but this is the first time I've actually seen the ad, thanks for sharing it.

What's a Drill Straight? Trousers that say "dugga" when your thighs rub together?

Straight trousers that have an extra large pocket for you to store a copy of Bernie's manifesto.

Mainline was a shop in my home town. I bought a pair of second hand 'clash Jeans' off a mate who had become a Mod. Only time I ever remember wearing then was to see The Clash in 1980  Hey I've never never said I was at the cutting edge of fashion

Used to be weekky ads in the back of the NME and even Smash Hits for Clash gear.

Remember them still being there well into the 80s.

I think I like that poster?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
