Jesus, 3 poxy paragraphs. I know they were past their commercial heyday by that point, but I'd have thought that news still deserved a bit more prominence than that.YoungParisians wrote: ↑22 Apr 2021, 12:39pmCouple more from Record Mirror

Also weird way to frame it as the new guys leaving. That was obviously not the case, but maybe Bernie thought getting Mick/Topper back was a real option at the time.Low Down Low wrote: ↑22 Apr 2021, 12:49pmJesus, 3 poxy paragraphs. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, the word "amicable" certainly catches the eye there, basically bung em a couple of grand each and send them amicably on their way. Was kosmo still around by that stage, if so my bet would be on him putting the spin on that.matedog wrote: ↑22 Apr 2021, 1:29pmAlso weird way to frame it as the new guys leaving. i had thought them reuniting then was something i had dreamed up but it must have been getting printed elsewhere too.
the mean, bad reviews sure brings things back, it was just constant.. cant imagine what it must have felt like for them.

This confused me a little, apparently a photoshop job. What's Joe looking at in the original picture?
Who pfaffed the pfaff? Who got pfaffed tonight?

Spotted these on Facebook this week accompanied by the following:
“Erik Verzijl’s personal photographs taken during a sound check when the Clash played the Paradiso in Amsterdam on their Sort It Out Tour, on the 21st of October 1978.
(According to the Big Pink Clash book, this gig took place on the 23rd of October? )”
