In my memories the Mick sound don t the problem
To me it s the lack of bass frequency
There is no bass at all
Even the bass drum is too tight
Notice that Paul starter to play with fingers
It change your sound completly

And the tokyo show it s another problem
The médium of paul bass is too much in front of rhe mix
Yes bb is correct the playing is fine it's the live on stage mix that is bad. That said mixing sound for a festival with different bands is never going to be an easy task.
I always compare Train In Vain from the US Festival to the version at Lewisham 3 years earlier. Vastly inferior and it's not just down to the sound. I thought they were quite sloppy at that festival.
A lot of stuff going down with Festival organisers and behind the scenes bullshit. It's not a fair comparison really as the size of each venue is vastly different with different acoustics etc. I'll take on board your criticism of their sloppiness though.

Hey that's fun we are the 28th may today !

Hey but it's funny that I just realized that it was May 28th today.
In a few hours, the Clash would perform their very last gig with MIck Jones.
and therefore their very last concert as far as I'm concerned
To celebrate, I quickly tried to heat up the sound of armagideon time

Despite my criticisms of the festival sound, that sounds really good. Are you mastering the whole show? ;)

Hands down the greatest anecdote in Vince White's insane book was...Paul hiding pepperoni sticks in his guitar case as his "emergency food supply" before heading out on the busking tour. God dammit that image made me laugh, a punk James Dean look alike wandering around Britain with a guitar case full of Hormel

I'm sure Paul is vegetarian. Maybe Vince got his band members mixed up.

Was he not cooking bacon in that recent mini doc filmed at his home? And he loved chilli according to Pennie Smith's book.

Haven't seen that doc. I guess you can have vegetarian chilli.

To be honest I can't recall it ever being mentioned anywhere that Paul is/was a veggie.

The only time I've read anything similar. Is Paul was working for Greenpeace and it was mentioned when they were captured Paul was very good at cooking vegetarian food.

https://flashbak.com/paul-simonon-the-c ... ime-12572/

About halfway down it mentions Simmo secretly working for Greenpeace.

"After the Esperanza protesters were arrested, Simonon spent two weeks in a cell – still keeping his identity a secret. “The food was so bad, we finally got the guards to agree to let Paul cook,” Leinonen said. “He makes excellent vegetarian food.”

I know Vince made up a lot of shit in that book, but if Paul's pepperoni sticks are a lie that's one bridge too far for me.
