Remote Control is great! A proper song with twists and turns and fantastic lead from Mick. Agree with a lot all of this, 48 Hours is ok but 2nd worst to Cheat. Cheapskates is the weakest on one of the best albums ever. Four Horsemen is again my 2nd weakest, Lover's Rock coming first. Silicone, well, fair enough. Death is a Star is crap though SISOSIG is dull and overplayed but get why it's the most popular. CTC, yeah fair enough again.matedog wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 1:37pmSpotify shows the total plays of songs on albums now. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike it, I think everything on the first album is top notch, I just prefer 48 hours over it. I do agree Cheat isn't the best of.Heston wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 5:32pmRemote Control is great! A proper song with twists and turns and fantastic lead from Mick. Yep no bad tracks on that ST album for me. "Cheat" has that fantastic flanger guitar sound. Pick a favourite sure but don't pick a "worst" track as there isn't one.Sparky wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 6:48pmDon't get me wrong, I don't dislike it, I think everything on the first album is top notch, I just prefer 48 hours over it. Re: The Clash observations thread.
I'm a big fan of Remote Control, but I think qualify of songs aside, Remote Control probably gets more plays online due to being featured on compilations, essentials playlists etc.
Re: The Clash observations thread.
Agreed, I’ve seen that one come up on a few Spotify playlists whereas I don’t think I’ve ever seen 48 Hours on any.magnificence wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 8:31pmI'm a big fan of Remote Control, but I think qualify of songs aside, Remote Control probably gets more plays online due to being featured on compilations, essentials playlists etc.
Probably why SISOSIG has almost 3x as many plays as their next most listened-to song (LC). No doubt it’s a very popular song (it’s literally the only Clash song most of my friends know and maybe RTC), but it’s also the one I see featured on all of Spotify’s 80s playlists. So it’s probably not people seeking it out as much as listening to those compilations.
Re: The Clash observations thread.
Agreed on RC. I'm a lot more surprised that Mensforth Hill or Career Opportunities didn't take lowest on S!Heston wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 5:32pmRemote Control is great!
