I'm positive we've talked about this book before, but I can't find it using the search (even by putting the title in quotes). Can anyone find the thread where this book is assessed?

I've got it. Are you looking to see if it's worthwhile?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, I'm sure it doesn't have any new information for people like us, but if it's an entertaining read at least, I wouldn't mind trying it out. It's from the same series as similar books on the Jam and Smiths, both of which are quite good.

There are some strange opinions in it, and plenty of factual mistakes from memory.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I liked it, it was like an alphabetised chat about every song with an enthusiastic Clash fan over a pint.

No, it's been over a decade but I distinctly recall an Armigideon Time to .... Zafe European Home format.
