There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Yep, transcribed by Marky here...muppet hi fi wrote: ↑12 Nov 2019, 5:39pmMight be my gun-to-head personal fave. And Hes - could you re-iterate here Mick's vocal bit during the breakdown in "Safe European Home"? I'm sure you got it right some years ago. "Ras clot...move your back side...???..." That part still gives me chills.

Didn’t make it past track three did you?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

This doesn’t have typos, so...I’m not sure if this is a true drunk Heston post.

Yeah it was you, mate. Just saw Heston's link to the original thread below. Pulled out my hard copies (which you so kindly curated and sent me across the pond, old school snail-mail ) of your wonderful 'All the Peacemakers' remaster/re-imagining set, and you have two great instrumental versions of SEH, but not the isolated vocal one. Did you not have that version at the time you were working on 'Peacemakers'? And another thing - do you fancy having a crack at the lyrics at the end/fade of "All the Young Punks"? That one's always foxed me too. (and as usual - thank you for everything, Marky. Just...thank you).Marky Dread wrote: ↑12 Nov 2019, 6:03pmThat was me. Re: The Clash observations thread.
Yes I have the isolated vocal take mate. I think I most likely thought 3 versions were enough on the same set. With the instrumentals I did two different mixes to the album version one with only track of Micks guitar to show just how powerful the track was without the overdub. The age old argument of GEER having too many layers isn't really true. Just for me at least I feel Micks playing was so powerful at this time that Mick Jones didn't need to be Steve Jones.muppet hi fi wrote: ↑13 Nov 2019, 3:15amYeah it was you, mate. The critics aren't kids and they aren't that impressed with your O face. Well, Ebert was, but he's dead now, so that barely counts.Kory wrote: ↑13 Nov 2019, 1:54pmI think they work like "literally" does with the kids now.
