I think this is a fan edit but it's really well done and I don't think I've seen it before...

Nice one. I think it's actually better than the official vid.
Strummer is incredible on it. Shamanic.

Sure i've got a "Clash bits" only edit of that.
Here's the edit of the film with just the 'Clash Bits'

This is pretty cool, I didn't even know this early footage was available outside of short cuts in Westway and other docs:

Will have to give that another watch. Saw it when it aired but already forgotten most of it.
Sure i've got a "Clash bits" only edit of that.
As an american I rather liked the context of the times to give it some extra significance.

As an Englishman who lived through it I would rather not be reminded. But I get the need for context.

As a Clash fan it's a shame valuable early footage of the band rehearsing and playing live is cut with boring 70s life.

The problem is that some of those images had already been used in Temples "Filth and the Fury". I wonder what other footage Julian has. It would've been nice if just the Clash footage was included as an extra on a dvd or something.

Took bit longer than it should for me to figure out what was going on there. Brain is mush today.

I think this is new on me but may have seen it years ago. A lot of the interview is obscured by the translator but Joe seems demented.

Yeah I've got that one. Shame you can't hear Joe enough.

Japanese doc on RAR. Looks interesting. I'd love to see a subtitled version. Topper interviewed too.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I’ve been informed that it’s not a Japanese doc. The film is being promoted in Japan right now for digital release.

Car Jamming wins most improved Clash song for me. Had it on last last few nights and I can't resist belting out that chorus now. Took a while though, like Sean Flynn, it never warmed to me much on the first few listens.

Car Jamming has some of Joe's best ever lyrics.
