Here's a question about those loopy CR b-sides — how would you describe Cool Confusion to someone?

First person to do the Bhindi Bhagee bit will be ejected into space.
“Imagine if someone who had never heard rocksteady or Devo was asked to imagine Devo doing a rocksteady song.”
That's a mean trick—I'd want to hear "Cool Confusion" based on the possibilities.

You would be hard pushed to get a submarine in a car park.

Well.
"London Calling",the album, reduced to its lowest possible denominator,as it truly deserves.Just the opening phrase repeated for the duration of the original album, saving us from their psuedo politacal claptrap and faux reggae nonsence for at least one hour, until your "i'm a Punk Rocker" bore mate turns up that is. This represents all the persons who got stuck in 1978 at the death knoll of Punk Rock, alongside the Clash.Silly boys.

When I was about 6 or 7 there was a mock-up Polaris submarine in a car park in my city centre and I was able to go inside. OK, it was a mock-up, but at my age at the time it seemed so real, and yes, it was government propaganda as CND was building its profile in the mid 60s, although I was ignorant of all that. Even at such a tender age I did think there was something fundamentaly wrong with letting a kid believe he could launch a nuclear attack upon the Soviet Bloc from outside the Olympia swimming pool in Dundee. Almost as absurd as Cool Confusion. Cold War Confusion?

So I was doing the housework earlier had the vacuum cleaner on and I was playing some James Brown very loudly. It occurred to me afterwards that I had been Hooverpowered by funk.

Maybe Joe hopped the curb and ran over his toes in 1977.

I've had Cool Confusion in my head all weekend — does anyone have the alt version? It's the one where the snare pops in every now and then, IIRC.

The alt. Version has Joe saying "Cool" at the start and extra heavier guitar from Mick. I'll upload shortly.
