Actually after a bit more research I think the Clash must have had one of these "Optigan" things in the studio, and played it themselves rather than sampled it from the earlier link. See this piece of film...
Do we know anything about the voiceover in that section?
Looking at the guest credits, a certain Gerald Baxter-Warman seems the most likely candidate. Plummy name usually means a plummy voice.
In all the Clash songbooks and lyric sites they give the lyric in Stay Free as "We piss on everyone in the classroom", but if you listen closely Mick doesn't sing that. It sounds more like "We just taught everyone." Any theories?
"You know we piss on everyone in the classroom" is correct.
Go listen to any of the live versions.
I've no doubt Mick sings "piss" in the live versions, but there is no "p" for piss in the GEER version, it's more of a "j".
We jizz on everyone in the classroom
Yeah, it was mentioned earlier and it is actually what it sounds like, phonetically. There is no P there at all.
You're not taking the "piss" then.
Seriously it is "piss" mate. It's most likely just Mick's phrasing. He doesn't pronounce the ''H" when he sings "it the wrong guy".
To make you feel better "you know we jest on everyone in the classroom ".

That's a well known Cockneyism, but pronouncing P as J isn't!
Sorry, but I'm just not having it that he says piss on the GEER version. Had another listen there and I'm convinced.
"you know we just con everyone in the classroom "
I hear that ''J'' sound also and you may be correct that it's something different to the assumed ''piss''. The problem I have is that The Clash a punk group in '78 being concerned about using the word ''piss'' in a song when the same song uses the word ''shit'' in the previous line makes little sense to me. I thought maybe it was just Mick making a mess of the line in the recording but then surely it would've been just as easy to re-record or edit the vocal take. So who knows mate.
