Should Crass even have a logo? Also all those fold out posters they wrapped around their records, could've saved a forrest. Bloody hippies!

I can't remember if this has been posted here before, but Ray Lowry's son is selling prints at https://raylowry.com/collections/the-clash. I just had one delivered and it's high quality.

I went with this one because I wanted something that would represent the whole band, and the scale of the composition was impressive: https://raylowry.com/collections/the-cl ... r-usa-1979Low Down Low wrote: ↑08 Nov 2021, 4:18pmThey are just great and when, nay if, i am flush with cash again i would love one for my little office/study. I also want to get the Paul-centric one, though.

The colour in that is spectacular. I think they are good value too.Kory wrote: ↑08 Nov 2021, 4:28pmI went with this one because I wanted something that would represent the whole band, and the scale of the composition was impressive: https://raylowry.com/collections/the-cl ... r-usa-1979Low Down Low wrote: ↑08 Nov 2021, 4:18pmThey are just great and when, nay if, i am flush with cash again i would love one for my little office/study. Fairly interesting. I was hoping for a deeper dive, but I do enjoy some of her observations, "I love that commitment to that bird."
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, some nice observations there. Like the one about the i don't wanna shout line, "you have to lean in to listen". Mostly though, it's just watching the sheer joy in her face as she listens to this incredible song.

It really is a great vocal from Joe. The fantastic nuance in his vocal is what sets him apart from the also rans.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board
Re: The Clash observations thread.
Spotify shows the total plays of songs on albums now. Not sure if this is US listens or worldwide and I don't know the time frame, but here's what I'm seeing now:
Most popular song on S/T - Police and Thieves
Least popular song on S/T - 48 Hours
Most popular on GEER - Tommy Gun
Least popular- Cheapskates
Most popular song on London Calling - London Calling
Least popular - Four Horsemen
Most popular song on S! - Mag 7
Least popular - Silicone on Sapphire
Most popular song on Combat Rock - Should I stay
Least popular song - Death is a Star
Most popular on CTC - This is England
Least popular - Life is Wild (just barely beating Fingerpoppin', unfortunately)

What a shame as LiW is, in its own way, the truest track on CtC, with that insane throw-everything-in-the-blender ending.

Re: The Clash observations thread.
Surprised 48 Hours was the least popular, I'd have thought it to be "Remote Control". I love the line in that song "Monday is coming like a jail on wheels". Always thought about that song on Sunday afternoons, dreading having to start the work week on Monday.matedog wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 1:37pmSpotify shows the total plays of songs on albums now.
