Don't know about inspiration but the drum intro to Bankrobber and Too Much Too Young by The Specials are surprisingly similar.

I've mentioned this before, but the verses of Rudy Can't Fail are the same as the chorus of IFTL.

Also flogging a dead horse, but London Calling/Dead End Street and I'm Not Down/Waterloo Sunset, especially in the bass lines. Also White Man in Hammersmith/No Woman No Cry. Let's not even broach The Who lifts.

Tommy Gun borrowed the machine gun drum fills from the KISS song, Love Gun.

But maybe unconsciously.

Not forgetting SISOSIG's amazing resemblance to "Sophistication" by the Sharks AND "Little Latin Lupe Lu."

It's no coincidence they're both from 1985 either.

Good tune, no doubt about it.

There was a lot worse to come from the three-headed beast that was Stock, Aitken and Waterman. They ruined my 80s, the bastards....

Ditto. It's so over the top that I don't hold that kitchen-sink production against it.
