And of course Clampdown and Train in Vain. Unfortunately, Don Letts says those are the only clips he "remembers filming".
I've never seen them

Some parts I recognise, some I don't.
The shops are different I suppose.
The Clash currently make me depressed.
Which is bloody annoying!
The Clash make me pump my leg in rhythm when I listen to them in public places.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
What about a full Lyceum 79 I love the stuff that has been released from this show and think The Clash were really at their best during this period, not just musically but everything.
May be the Kampuchea video gig exist ????
Bloody good gig.
Not a "fire" one, but pretty listenable and enjoyable one
The Bankrobber version is a pre Dread works, interesting
The Gallager Gallager is in place and brings something
Good selection of songs from the first 3 clash album
One thing is sure i'll surely not spend a penny for a gig with Terry Chimes

But i'll surely not spend a penny for a gig with Terry Chimes that's for sure
No Topper No Clash
I am pretty sure that nothing on vid exists of Kampuchea except for Armagideon Time.
The TerryClash first release is a logical one because of the CD/DVD dual release. Letts filmed the whole show, it was intended for a dual release the first time around, and it was halfway finished before it was found in the archives. So I think that's an easily justifiable choice. Lewisham only had the promo vids and some partials shot because Letts didn't have the budget to do the full show, so that's going to be an audio release with maybe at-most a second DVD disc of just the repackaged promo vids. Lyceum '79 only had the Rude Boy IFTL and ECW filmed...Buzzy Films threw out any other footage. Bonds they still have to sort out and do a painstaking restoration job on 40 hours of Clash on Broadway footage...which would be major-release worthy in itself so the 6/9 show doesn't have to be a package release and could come earlier. None of the other top-notch booted full-vid shows Sony owns the rights to, with ones like Chorus TV and the US Festival the rightsholders basically holding for ransom-level prices. And unfortunately the excellent Passaic full-show SBD/vid is just the in-venue B&W camera so that really can't be considered.
So Shea's your only choice for a dual full-show kickoff release. It's a pedestrian show, but...hey...full-show video is not all that common even on boots and certainly not at pro-film quality so I'll gladly pay money for it. It'll have wider appeal to casual fans because of the DVD component, which will drive up interest in subsequent 'live series' audio releases. And it's a much more worthy release than another @#$% rehash release, which is my only real beef with Sony's handling of the back catalogue. The only thing to really get frustrated about is if they DO NOT follow this release up with a peak-era Topper CD release like a Lewisham or Bonds or Lyceum. Then this is inadequate. But from what Sony is pitching this as it appears like this is first in a series of releases...to which I can only say FINALLY!
Latest report is that Shea Stadium CD is to feature in the complete show from the second day. Technical problems with the first show (semi-fancy words for "buzzing" throughout the tapes) led to the decision. That's all I heard from Mick -- didn't discuss release date or DVD/Video component. Oh, and he thinks it sounds really good.

There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

so that would make the tracklist:
London Calling
Police On My Back
The Guns Of Brixton
Tommy Gun
The Magnificent Seven
Rock the Casbah
Train In Vain
Career Opportunities
Spanish Bombs
Clampdown
English Civil War
Should I Stay or Should I Go?
I Fought the Law
DVD should have their SNL appearance since it was only a few days before and in NY.

I believe TeddyB also confirmed it's the Mag7/Armagideon Time/Mag7(reprise) arrangement.

I was about to rejoice the lack of AT. Oh well, I'm still buying it the day it comes out.

Is that different from the show the Shea video clips of Career Op's etc.. come from ?

Same one as that and the SISOSIG official promo vid, although they'll be speed-corrected at last. Actually SISOSIG already had a speed-corrected snippet appear in (Westway?). Letts filmed the whole show, so that's the video source that was originally intended for the home video dual release of the album back in '83 when it was intended as their big inter-album stopgap release. Hence the vid's probably going to have a lot of amplified crowd noise and probably some shots of the band like with the top-down convertible ride that appears in the SISOSIG promo vid.
Whatever...the damn thing was pretty much ready for release in '83, so we probably owe its release in any form now to the easy job Sony had of tying up the loose ends on the aborted mastering. Shame the previous night had glitchy sound...this would've been much better (and a little longer, since there were a couple minor setlist swap-ous) if it were a compilation of the best of the two gigs.

Speed corrected? Were they too slow?
