The why more Terry what gives, or when's the release date what gives?Jimmy Jazz wrote:What gives!?
Well, I won't touch #1 but I'm sorta confused why they even leaked word that far ahead of time if the thing isn't even ready. It's kind of gone out-of-sight/out-of-mind from lack of any updates, and that's not good business by Sony for all the interest it initially piqued.
Re: Shea Stadium CD
When are they gonna release material worthy of fans' money?
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

And, why by what you can download for free?
The Megalist has everything I need. I don't think I'll ever lay another dime down on Clash stuff.

It'd be nice to see some lossless, remastered shows.BostonBeaneater wrote:And, why by what you can download for free?

Re: Shea Stadium CD
Well, to be fair this one was in mixing stage for Fall '83 live album + VHS release before Mick's sacking put it on ice, so for a first release from the archives it was the "easiest" to touch up due to prior partial completion of the found masters. Word of its release came very soon after Sony hatched the idea of a live vaults release, so that probably expedited it. I don't mind...it gets the ball rolling, and it's low-risk for Sony because they're just picking up where they left off 25 years ago.eumaas wrote:When are they gonna release material worthy of fans' money?
But the next release BETTER FUCKING BE an ace Topper show...Lewisham or Bonds. There is no excuse for anything more from that broken-axle of an '82 tour. None.
Re: Shea Stadium CD
I would pay for a full Lewisham soundboard.BostonBeaneater wrote:And, why by what you can download for free?

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Parts of Bankrobber were shot in Lewisham.

And of course Clampdown and Train in Vain. Unfortunately, Don Letts says those are the only clips he "remembers filming".MadModWorld wrote:Parts of Bankrobber were shot in Lewisham.

Some parts I recognise, some I don't.
The shops are different I suppose.
