Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I can't wait for Bernie Beer's seasonal Crap Cuts Brew, made from the choicest asynchronous ¡mango!, crabgrass, and vole meat hops.

Just found out about this beer this weekend. I get some of the criticism. The Clash are one of my all-time favorite bands and have mixed feelings about using their image to sell merchandise. However as a fan of craft beer, I can get behind this one. The artwork doesn't really bother me. However the name isn't really that clever. I feel like they could of worked in song title or album title for the name, instead of just "The Clash Beer". Also, I feel the style might not be a great fit for an English band. It is described as a pilsner, which is something that I identify as a German beer.

I thought I would to some beer and band/album pairings and discovered this one. I got a few other beers that I bought including Sub Pop Loser Pale Ale, Iron Maiden Trooper Beer, Dogfish Miles Davis Bitches Brew, and several others.

Maybe this Clash Beer is a quick cash grab designed to take Clash fans money. But to me it comes off as a small brewery that is also a fan a good music. Based on the reviews it sounds like a pretty good beer too! I've tracked down a local watering hole here in Seattle that has it. I plan on at least giving it a taste this weekend. I was probably going to drink a couple of beers anyways.

I thought the artwork is kinda cool. I love how off the faces are, it adds to the mysteriousness and Britishness of The Clash. Reminds me of the first time I heard "London Calling", the song..

P.S., Obviously Topper, Paul, Mick, and Joe. ;)

Anyways, gave this beer a go tonight. Not a typical style of beer that I gravitate towards, but it was actually very delicious, flavorful and well balanced. Although a little on the pricy side. I'll definitely check out a few other beers from this brewery though.

I only found one place this beer was available in Seattle. The cool thing is that it was a reason to visit a different neighborhood that I don't typically hang out in and try a new bar. Really enjoyed the bar. Food was pretty good. Tons of beer available. The only drawback is that it would have enjoyed this beer a little more listening a Clash album.
