Re: The Clash
Well since this is your point of view, do you mind getting all the BAD albums out and listen carefully through the lot, and then make up you mind again. You gotta be kiddin' me. The demo sessions are cool to listen to as a document of some work in progress that was later totally fucked over and ruined by Bernie at the time the songs where mixed and compiled up to what became CtC. The album would've been something diufferent if Bernie had kept his fingers away from it. But better than Combat Rock? Hello??? Wake up... better than the BAD catalogue. So that explains it all.... lack of musical taste and a weak spot for the liquor. Cheers!Dr. Medulla wrote:He is from Boston …esmark wrote:You drunk or somethin' Flex?

Fact: The '83 Demos are better than Cut the Crap.
By the transitive properties, the '83 Demos are better than Combat Rock. As for the BAD calalog, give me some poorly recorded rock n roll over cheesy synthesizer music any day of the week and twice a day in the month of Smarch (a twist on a classic saying!).
Of course, being from New England, I prefer Aerosmith over this whole lot. It's so... "real"

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .
