I borrowed VH's fancy Bose headphones and you are absolutely right. And I heard it before you posted, so it was an amazing surprise.Wolter wrote:My submission is best listened to on headphones for proper stereo imaging, btw.
Can't wait to hear this masterpiece.

Also, I can't get over how brilliant Heston's entry is.

I'm listening to it right now. Is Heston the first one?

Yeah, I'm just listening now. I was indeed on first.Mimi wrote:I'm listening to it right now. Is Heston the first one?
I sound totally strange, I don't usually talk like that, I think it was nerves.

Kaleb, you're killing me. Your reactions are awesome, like this thing in the most morally reprehensible thing in existence.

Kudos all round, the show had me guffawing in a few places. Kaleb's pure hatred and frustration was a joy to behold.

I'm far too common sounding for a university professor. And university is, most definitely, a con.muppet hi fi wrote:Funny thing: everyone (Kaleb, SM, Flex, Wolt, Jenny) all sound like such likable people, though SM does sound like a 47 year old university proff and Kaleb like a retired 67 year old auto mechanic.
Heston, however (judging from his voice alone,) scares the bejeezus outta me.
Thanks everybody, this turned out real nice.
Re: The Podcast Listening Party
I tried listening to this during my marathon, but it was too funny and fucked up my breathing. I love Heston's pronunciation of "Dynasty" as "Den-asty."
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: The Podcast Listening Party
I would love to actually sound like a retired 67 year old auto mechanic. It would give my bullshit some gravitas. Kinda like how Leonard Cohen gets away with having the most boring concerts ever because he sounds like Hollywood's conception of God.muppet hi fi wrote:Funny thing: everyone (Kaleb, SM, Flex, Wolt, Jenny) all sound like such likable people, though SM does sound like a 47 year old university proff and Kaleb like a retired 67 year old auto mechanic.

Kaleb, if that something that I did to "piss you off earlier" was what I said about the italicized/underscore thing, I apologize. That was a bit unneeded and stern. Other than that I can't think of anything I directly wrote to make you mad. Unless you're counting the T-Rex/Led Zeppelin fluke but that was just fun and general Hoyness. I don't know if you might be referring to the RICHEY posts that weren't me (told you so) because I don't know the date you guys recorded this.
