Blackmarketclash
Blackmarketclash
Are there any bootleg sites as well designed and thorough as this one? From my limited experience of Bruce bootleg sites, I say no.
Cheers, Graham.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

You've got Brucebase, which is pretty good. But yea, nowhere near as well designed. It's sometimes a pain to go through, whereas BMC is fun.

BMC is one of THE most useful websites for my own particular obsessions, I must admit.
Clearly a labor of love, and I appreciate Graham for it, in case I haven't said it before.

I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

I've studied the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities but this place takes the fucking cake.

I love BMC. I forgot who said this, but it's a great statement about the site "It's like walking through a Clash museum."
Jeff Dove's "Clash on Stage" was good too.

Re: Blackmarketclash
Once the whole site gets populated with full gig reviews (last update in Jan. completed 1981, I believe next one starts on '82) and the previous entries are re-checked for accuracy, Graham has said he hopes to get it self-published as a book. That would, without question, be the biggest contribution ever to Clash-as-literary-genre...moreso than any of the bios. And it would probably dislodge a whole lot more uncirculated boots with the underground buzz it would get.
So, yes, we owe Graham a debt of gratitude. Just being the go-to site for live shows alone has fueled the bonanza of new boots and upgrades we've seen the last 5 years.

Yep agreed without doubt second to none. I have been using it as my Clash library for years.

Re: Blackmarketclash
It is quite boring to have to agree with everyone here, but yes, it's a landmark Clash site over here in the internets.
