BAD SURVIVAL POLL - No 10 UPPING ST Round 1
Some Strummer/Jones compositions here. Amazing they were collaborating just two years after CTC.

I voted Ticket, but Don's toasting on that is a highlight of the album.

Pretty mad that they put Ticket on the album when you see what they had in the vault at the time. It should have been a b-side at best.

I think they were collaborating from about May 86 which would make it 6 months after CTC. Yeah, mad.Silent Majority wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 3:00amSome Strummer/Jones compositions here. Amazing they were collaborating just two years after CTC.

Finding it hard to believe someone voted for V13 deliberately.
Another point I'd like to mention is are we voting for the original vinyl versions of V13 and Hollywood Boulevard here or the versions that replaced them later on CD? It's not like they're just remixes either, they sound like total remakes, especially V13.

It's not that I don't like it - but it just sounds a bit wimpy compared to the single version (I guess that's also the one on the later CDs?) and the live versions.
I find the entire album very consistent so it's hard to let go of even one. Objectively Ticket is not as good but I have some great memories of listening to it on a car drive to the south coast with the family and trying to keep up with the fast Don bits.
TBH, it really could be any until we get to Sightsee MC and Beyond the Pale - I'm genuinely sad to see any of them voted off.

I like the quaint sound of the original version of V13. I get the power of the later version but the original has this charm that I enjoy.oliver wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 7:47pm

This is where I'm at. I know Sightsee MC won't win, but it's my horse as long as it's around. I had the 12" and there was a version called, I think, "Sightsee West London" that kicked ass.

All top songs hard to pick more than 2 to be voted off

Good album this one. Went with Hollywood Boulevard but it's still good its good points. Shame to see Ticket go this early, I get why people don't warm to it as much but for whatever reason from the first time I heard it I loved it.

The Brexit vote answered that question a couple years ago.

I don't think any Brexiteers frequent IMCT. Or listen to slightly dated 80s songs.
