I voted Stalag 123, but really it's more about making sure holiday wins the side.

Anyone have an opinion on what Stalag 123 is about? I'd always assumed it was about writers block but I'm not so sure. I'm probably missing a huge reference somewhere (and Albert RN is one of those films I keep meaning to watch but never have)
Putting a little stick about. Putting the frighteners on flash little twerps

Going stir crazy in the studio. Their studio was flooded during the making of the album which is referenced in the lyrics.

That first verse made me think it was more specifically about being unable to finish a song or something. He knows what he needs to do but can't get there and and he must work through it himself.

I haven't been in a "proper" studio for a few years now. I hate that clock ticking against your creativity. And you're usually worn down within about four hours after the initial excitement.

Yeah I'm dreading it. We have 5 days to do 13 songs, "produced" by Stephen Hague, who I'm also not digging.

Are you not supposed to have written and rehearsed everything before hand. Then go in and record what you have. Writing in the studio always seems a waste of money to me.

Yeah, but creative decisions apply to production as well. There's always people tampering with different sounds, reverbs etc. Arguing whats the best take. All kinds of stuff. Then you have to record the ants gnawing through the wood of the studio door...;)

13 songs in 5 days seems a bit ambitious. If I had 5 days I would be looking to record 4 songs, tops

Well one of the reasons I'm quitting the band is that Astra refuses to listen to reason of any kind. I've completely given up trying, which was pretty much my cue that I'm in the wrong group.
