Two Degrees of Separation

I’ve got wind of a rumor that if the stars stay aligned, Mick will be quite soon going into the studio, producing an album for Subway Sect.

Let's hope so. Vic mentioned it on a recent appearance on the Marc Riley show (I hope the link below works, it was a good show, worth a listen). Some of the new songs sounded great at a show the night after the radio appearance, so a brilliant album could be the result of the collaboration.

Good news but I was hoping that last bit was gonna say "to make a solo album."
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

He’s recorded enough for several. Deciding whether to release something is a different story.

On the other thread someone pointed out that "it's fucking 2019 not 1979".

Just saying.

I like hearing that Mick's still making his own music, even if it's mostly for himself.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

I reckon there’s still a significant hope that he will finally choose to release something.

According to Kris Needs, he's already produced it -

Last night at the exhibition launch Mick invited me to hear the album he's just produced - in the space of 2 weeks! - with Subway Sect (who I first saw supporting The Clash at the ICA 43 years ago!). Took me 3 hours to get to this little studio in Hackney but so glad I obeyed the feeling I just had do this. With Mick the MC, about 10 of us heard this fabulous album. "I used to make beds of music for Joe," Mick said later when we were standing outside the Victory pub, where it was played again.

Hello,

I understand the point about pride - not wanting to release something you are not proud of or confident in for the public. I would suggest to Mick - be confident enough to release anything to learn public response and either respond to that or ignore it - his (Mick's) call.
