F Punk

Always loved this album but totally get why people criticize it for its production.I just wanted to add I have recently purchased a great bit of software called Boom 3D to use on a Bluetooth device that's sounding a bit weak.
This software has given Fpunk a huge boost. The drums, volume and bass totally enhanced I am hearing so much in these songs now that I couldn't hear before. All the songs have been given a whole new lease of life and the album sounds just brilliant. I really am getting now what Fpunk could have been
I don't listen now to any music without this software
This got me thinking that in all bands there are examples of albums that have terrible production that actually ruin or hold back success for very highly respected bands. Well I am wondering how the hell do these supposedly great producers get it so wrong. My suggestion to them is Boom 3D and give up there day job

All we need is the multitracks and that album could have a brilliant makeover.

Realistically and cost wise how feasible is that to do for a record company ? Nearly every old album has been remastered and released again for most bands so could this be like remastering of the album ? Personally I think this would be a huge money spinner as technically not only are the fans getting remastered but you are getting some thing new and different as well.
If record companies were to be able to think and work outside the box this could be a real possibility to see this one day.

There is a big difference between remastering and remixing. With remastering your hands are tied to an extent with the levels of vocals, instruments etc. It's just a bit of polish on the finished mix really. For a remix you would need access to the multitrack tapes if they still exist, then you would be able to remove/add parts and alter levels easily. You could also trigger a whole new drum sound or even add real drums. I fear this will never happen though as the band want it swept under the carpet, which is understandable really.

The Pogues recently re-released all their albums but went to the trouble of remixing Red Roses For Me and Peace And Love, as both were mixed poorly. They both sounded so much better.

I just wonder if the multitracks exist and who has them.

I'm sure they're in a box in CBS storage somewhere. Or Fayney has them.

Haha, I wish Fayney had them, he would probably give them to me. He's a top man on Facebook. I reckon I could probably get an interview out of him for EET WEEK.

We should have had Jenny ask him a bunch of stuff about it.
