Makes you wonder why no-one else thought of it.

He's also got a slight chorus effect on the guitar, with a little overdrive/amp break-up happening. Add in the delay and it's iconic. Two chords never sounded so good.MarkyJacobs wrote: ↑09 Jul 2020, 4:32pmProbably not a tech question, but what makes the opening chord of The Bottom Line so distinctive? He hits it and everyone knows what the song is!
Edit: now that I say chorus, maybe he was using the Space Echo chorus? But to my ears it sounds so different than the delay he was getting on S! And CR, where he kind of let's it go wild. And then all the tape modulation you hear on Rat Patrol. I had the Boss Space Echo simulator pedal and it was always a really tough delay to wrangle. Still very beautiful though.

I can't wait to get to Denmark Street with all these new additions to my vocabulary.

Mick brings back the short echo repeat on the intro to Man That is Dynamite, very Bottom Line. Earlier he assayed something similar during Bankrobber live from Bonds.

Seems unlikely it was ever accompanied by the same cheer.TeddyB Not Logged In wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 3:36amMick brings back the short echo repeat on the intro to Man That is Dynamite, very Bottom Libe

I wonder if Mick was ever tempted to hit the distinctive big short echo repeat chord... then break into a completely different song?
