Kool Aid question
Re: Kool Aid question
Hello,
I'm jumping in a bit late but I don't care for Kool Aid nearly as much as Bajen Skank - is that just a remixed/reworking of Kool Aid or does it deserve separate consideration? To my ears, it's stand-alone but I thought I read somewhere else is wasn't - there's enough difference to consider it separate to my ears.

Genius and some other lyric sites have this (which made me laugh). Assuming this is wrong though:Marky Dread wrote: ↑11 Aug 2020, 10:41amThat all I got.oliver wrote: ↑11 Aug 2020, 8:39amI realised a while ago that I have no idea what that vocoder(?) voice is saying for half of the intro

I slowed down the track by 20% and that's what I got. No idea if it's correct but what I posted above is all I could hear.drowninghere wrote: ↑11 Aug 2020, 12:13pmGenius and some other lyric sites have this (which made me laugh). Re: Kool Aid question
It was all over 120 Minutes on MTV at the time. That was the first BAD song I actually heard (ok, second, but I didn’t notice BAD on the Ferris Bueller soundtrack until later).TeddyB Not Logged In wrote: ↑21 Jul 2020, 12:18amYes, this is basically it in a nutshell.NoMoreHugh wrote: ↑20 Jul 2020, 5:21pmWasn't the Kool Aid vinyl version a limited edition as well ? I kind of remember the urgency i had to buy mine before they sold out
I get the feeling it was a fill in album so they wasnt away from the public eyes for too long since the last band break up.
The album is great
As for the song The Globe, it was a number one single in Australia, and did very well in the States. Remember, it’s about a club of the same name in the Portobello Road. The final album may have been less conceptually of a piece than Kool Aid, but it was quote probably more successful than a full release of the original would have been.
Kickin’ In was probably left off as it’s a remake of Free and it was a worry it would be a legal issue with the movie studio. As it turns out, it likely would not have been a problem because we got it cleared including the voice samples quite easily for Planet BAD. Or maybe it was felt that since Dan left in the interim, a co-write of his wouldn’t fit the bill for a record by the new group.
