Depends how early to the party you were I suppose. Didn't BAD mention ecstasy in Stone Thames as early as 1985?
Not really. A drug being mentioned in a song certainly doesn't constitute a summer of love - mythical or otherwise.
But if we're going foen that route, love probably dates back to Adam and Eve. And dancing in fields was likely to have been popular shortly afterwards.
If you get to a party too early,, no one will be there. (Something Adam clearly understood.)

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
No specifics. Mick had already seen a cut and was quite positive about it. Texted with Chris Salewicz after the premiere who said it was “important” and “used Don as a metaphor for cultural and social shifts”. Of course, Chris and Don are particularly close.
Don tells the story that they bumped into Strummer in New York while recording Upping Street.
It was Soho according to all the books/interviews. But who knows what mythology is involved in these stories? The Clash were prone to it, but it does make the story more interesting.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Doesn't make it more interesting to me if it's bullshit. I only care about the facts. Why obscure the truth. Too much myth making.
The album was recorded at Trident One Studios, 17 St. Anne's Court, London, Soho.
Where Ziggy Stardust was recorded.
