Yeah that synth is in indeed a greedy instrument. I really wish they had used a hammond that would've given a much more organic feel. But that wasn't modern sounding or cost effective. And we have to remember that BAD were breaking new ground with Megatop.bazarboy75 wrote: ↑05 Apr 2021, 6:14amsecond theory
is that because they used lot's of digital elements in particular the synth which is very greedy as regards the frequency spectrum
in the end, the other "analog" instruments must give it its place in the mix which would explain the low bass level even as you said Marky that they want to "insert" dub bass into their music

Surely not the taste of everybody because it very acid house oriented but it s the third time that our Mick reinvent himself.

Thank you!! Great work, with your remix 32 years later I'm still discovering new sounds on this album!!!
Although being a massive BAD fan Megatop Phoenix is the only BAD album that I can listen to straight from start to end (literally)

Re: Megatop Phoenix remaster
Getting a chance to download this now (and haven't had a chance to listen to your BAD best of comps yet either, gonna be a BAD weekend coming up for me I think) - thanks man! This one has never really resonated with me, but I'm looking forward to giving it some fresh ears with one of your superb mixes and just seeing if there's some more I can pick out that I'll enjoy. In any case, I appreciate you turning your attention to the BAD catalog, if ever there was Clash-adjacent body of work in need of some love...

Re: Megatop Phoenix remaster
I'm in the lab with it now. Two days off work so I have some vials of bubbling liquid on the go.
Sounds crisp as fuck straight away. And yes, the guitars on "Union, Jack" are much louder and cutting right through. Superb stuff, I will comment more as the album goes on.
