Every time I see a current picture of Topper, I just think how grateful he must be that he's alive and well given his past struggles. Seeing him smiling and looking well makes me like him even more.

So, re, the cassette song titles... 'Paint It Black' !! in what I presume is a tape of the Vanilla sessions. I can't connect that with any known Clash tune.

And 'Porn to Die / Death Is Porn' on the tape labelled Basic Tracks 12/28/81 - another new one on me.
US style date too, so perhaps a dub made by one of the Electric Lady staff guys or something.

Over to Marky, CharlieDS and co who know more about the sessions than me...

It would be nice if it was interactive and you could play these tapes. Or even have them piped around the exhibition. Seems such a tantalising waste to have them just sitting there to be looked at.

I did actually say to the guy running it "let's get these tapes out and play them in one of the boomboxes" he wasn't keen on the idea however he did say they were thinking of digitising them to be played at future exhibits....so who knows....

Yeah, it was maddening to see them stuck inside a glass case! Let's hope they work out a way to let people hear them one day.

Provided those mystery tracks aren't just another 'Outside Bonds' !
