Entering a New Ride

Post by SteveSatch »

I'm looking for a copy with higher quality sound than what I have. Can it be downloaded with great sound from anywhere?

What bittrate/sound quality do you have currently?

I am finally putting some BAD on my Squeezebox. My New Ride wasn't lossless so thanks for the link. Did BAD Files #8 ever show up in lossless?

The files on the BAD Megalist are just fairly high bittrate mp3, iirc. I don't think lossless BAD files have circulated on these boards specifically, although I imagine when Esmark or someone else reads this thread they can confirm if lossless vol. 8 is in circulation at all.

How do you like the Squeezebox? It seems pretty tasty.

Nah, not lossless, just bitrates at 256.... takes a bit too long to upload the flac or shn's... sorry. Don't have the time right now.

Squeezebox is great once you get it all set up. It's a lot of work though to get your music together. I bought an additional internal hard drive just for music. Then getting all the music on the hard drive and tagged correctly takes time, especially if a lot of your music is downloaded with incorrect tags. If you're going to go through the hassle of all that, you want lossless music so you become a FLAC snob.

Hmm... my music library is pretty well maintained, so that might not be much of a stumbling block. Don't have the cash-monies for it, but another item to add to the wish list... thanks for the report, Steve.

I just looked at my BAD Files and 1-7 are listed as lossless .cda files.......BAD Files #8 and extras CDs 1 and 2 are mp3s with a bit rate of 192. Shudder. I'll be looking for higher bit rate copies of those......Squeezeboxes really do make CD players obsolete.

Looks like my copy of BAD Files #7 is messed up. I'm looking for BAD Files 7, 8 and Extra CDs 1 and 2 in as high of quality bitrate as possible.

320 bit rate mp3s would work :) Somehow we should get 1-8 plus the two extra CDs out there at 320.
