Okay I think this is as good as I can do:

As the lights went out in Alabam
A fireball that was retro grad
It was a public statement that said
Associations had gone bad

And then the world cooled
There'd been a big mistake
And we've had the last days
It's coming down

So we climb into our cardboard boxes
The basement under the table
While the straight mile
Down beneath the parliament
They say the situations stable

And it's a world for the right things
Baby do you understand
It's coming down

Euroshima
Euroshima

As the rock we dragged was never sold
Off the state of Minnesota
We must stop bragging we mustn't fail
To save it going much colder

And it's a world for acknowledgement
While we drink from the snakes
That's coming down

Meanwhile on the homestead
We've all got to stay in
Counting tins of peaches
Clutching keepers guns

Cause It's a world calling us
Who sit and wait
That they precipitate
That's coming down

Euroshima
Euroshima

We all f-fade bystanders
That's burning to the rest
Once feeling exchanged in anger
That's left everybody dead

N' It's a world that's starts fear instead
What they know you want
It's coming down

The wind that blew the fallout
Is floating through the air
The rivers full of floating fish
We sit pulling out clumps of hair

This is the world where
We are the missile bait
Tell me is this hate
That's coming down

Euroshima
Euroshima

Well deciphered!

I think "Associations had gone bad" is "Negotiations had gone bad"? Less confident about this, but maybe "bloated fish" rather than "floating fish"?

Least confident of the lot; maybe "To save it going much colder" is "To save it for Dakota" but no idea if that even makes sense!
"Negotiations had gone bad" that works better.

"Floating fish" I think is correct as their all dead from fallout.

"Going much colder" or "Dakota" no real idea. I thought it might be a reference to the sun dying out.
I listened a few times and I'm happy that my first suggestion is correct but wasn't convinced either way with the other two. I do know that it is a lost classic.

Years and Years is definitely worth a watch. Can't think of a better show from the last few years
Will check it out when I get chance.
Me too, thanks Oliver and TeddyB.
I binge watched it. Thanks again for the recommendation, it was definitely worth watching. I reckon it won't be long before I watch it all again.

Yeah would've loved Mick to have cut it with BAD.

Hey, I snagged the revamped demos the other day and am getting around to listening to them now. Thanks Marky! Brings me back to the excitement we felt when we first heard these, lovely.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Here's a few additions I've tried to the lyrics. I've found I could hear the lyrics better if I just listened to the left channel, the sax is blaring on the right. I'm confident of a couple of the changes, not so sure on others. Any advancements welcome...

As the lights went out in Alabam
A fireball that was retro grad
It was a public statement that said
Negotiations had gone bad
And then the world cooled
There'd been a big mistake
we've had the last days
It's coming down

So we climb into our cardboard boxes
The basement under the table
While the straight mile
Down beneath the parliament
They say the situations stable
But it's a wrong turn and it's the right repeat
Baby do your own stunt
It's coming down

Euroshima
Euroshima

As the rock we dragged was never sold
Off to the state of Minnesota
We must stop bragging we mustn't fail
The scene in North Dakota
And it's a world for acknowledgement
While we drink from mistakes
That's coming down

Meanwhile on the homestead
We've all got to stay in
Counting tins of peaches
Clutching keepers guns
Cause It's a world pool/whirlpool?
Who sit and wait
That's the precipitate
That's coming down

Euroshima
Euroshima

We're all afraid bystanders
Backs well into the bed
Words get exchanged in anger
That's left everybody dead
Cos it's a wrong turn
Stop growing states
While they know your rates
It's coming down

The wind that blew the fallout
Is floating through the air
The rivers full of floating fish
We sit pulling out clumps of hair
This is the world where
We are the missile bait
Tell me is this hate
That's coming down

A couple of minor suggested changes plus two revised lines, which I think I am now hearing correctly. I have underlined where I changed them. Still a few I'm not sure about, which is good, because I love listening to this song!

Just to add a bit more I'm now hearing the following in bold/red.

As the lights went out in Alabam
A fireball that was retro grad
There was a public statement that said
Negotiations had gone bad
And then the world knew
There'd been a big mistake
we've had the last days
It's coming down

So we climbed into our cardboard boxes
The basement under the table
While the straight mile
Down beneath the parliament
They say the situations stable
But it's a world turned past the right ways
Baby do you understand
It's coming down

Euroshima
Euroshima

As the bomb we dragged was there
But so was the state of Minnesota
We must stop fighting we mustn't fail
The state of North Dakota
And it's a world fucked I think we've had it mate
While we drink on the slate

It's coming down

Meanwhile on the homestead
We've all got to stay in
Counting tins of peaches
Clutching pickle jars
Cause It's a world fooled
Who sit and wait
That they precipitate
What's coming down

Euroshima
Euroshima

The needle is way past amber
In fact its well into the red
Words get exchanged in anger
That's left everybody dead
Cos it's a world that
Strikes fear instead
While they know your rights

It's coming down

The wind that blew the fallout
Is floating through the air
The rivers full of floating fish
We sit pulling out clumps of hair
This is the world where
We are the missile bait
Tell me is this hate
That's coming down

Should add that I think Laxman is correct that it's "bloated fish".

Thanks Marky, I'm still hearing it as bloated.

First verse, I thought maybe it is "world knew", as you put, but is it actually "world blew"?

Second verse, is "Baby do you understand" maybe "Baby we are the architects"?

Third verse, is "And it's a world fucked I think we've had it mate" maybe "And it's a world where I think we've had it mate"?

Could be not sure very difficult to decipher.

I think it maybe "baby will you understand"
I'm a 100% It's "understand".

Third verse, is "And it's a world fucked I think we've had it mate" maybe "And it's a world where I think we've had it mate"?
Could be "war" "bomb" ....Who knows?

There seems to be a "world" in each verse, and the next word is quite tough to make out on pretty much all of them.
