Why I’m proud to play Don’t Buy The Sun gig
Re: Why I’m proud to play Don’t Buy The Sun gig
Yeah, I saw that BAD posted a notice about that gig on Facebook.
Seems there's a chance that MJ will play a Clash song or three, a rumor that he kinda verified in the article.

So who's going? Just bought my tickets.
That same article is in tonight's newspaper (The Liverpool Echo), along with the B.A.D photo.
Got a half page spread and only an advert on the other half . Page 11 no less!
The venue is four or five miles away from me I could hardly not go, hopefully an informal do with a bit of mingling going on!
I think The Olympia used to be the Grafton, infamous for it's grab a granny nights and a mile or two outside the town centre.
This is just one more thing to admire Mick for.
Good on ya Mick, see you Saturday!

Wow. That must have been amazing.
That was a great write up from someone who knows his history and gets what it was (and still is) all about.

I've got mixed feelings about Mick's shyness around his voice.

I thought Mick was a Crystal Palace fan? I met Nick Hawkins in America once at a BAD 2 gig, and he wanted to know the results from that day, and said Mick supported Palace.

The dude singing on White Man was pretty bad.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
