New Youtube BAD

Post by Heston » 12 Sep 2008, 11:37am

I've just uploaded this rarely seen BAD tv appearance from 1986. Thanks to Marky Dread for the original video tape and White Man for the dvd conversion.

Man, that early BAD stuff is still magic. They had great stylists too. Such great chemistry- such a shame it all fell to control freakery- again.

Why couldn't they just record albums like that -- sans drum machines and things.

I'd give Hooky's left nut to hear what Joe'd gotten done with a live drummer No. 10.

Right, because the problem with Cut the Crap were those awful live drums...

If only... if only Cut the Crap had been made with some sort of a drum machine. What a paradise it could have been.

Man, that's a f**kin' rockin' version of "Beatbox" from Brazil. I wish there was some high quality video of full shows from that period....as Mr. Knowles said, they did have a great chemistry and look. Those early albums may sound dated today but they were pretty damn original for that time. I can still remember listening to This is B.A.D. with my friends and thinking that (along with the Clash) we wouldn't need any other music to fulfill us for a long time, they just had a sound that appealed to our skater/artist gang. Then "Grunge" came along and most of them jumped ship so I was left to enjoy Megatop all by my lonesome.

it seems the complete Rio Show surfaced!
I ordered a dvd to the guy.
I´ll let you know!
The greatest legacy he leaves is that he made a generation of people think for themselves. He didnt quite manage to change the world but he changed the way people looked at it. It's a sad day - but what a life
