I wonder what the tape is with Mickey and Norman on it.

Obviously Mickey Gallagher and Norman Watt-Roy. But I wonder what the tracks are.
Yeah, same here. That honestly caught my eye first over the General Public tapes. Only thing I could guess was something around Sandinista, maybe when they recorded Every Little Bit Hurts? So possibly that + a couple other covers maybe.
Now that he's retired, perhaps he might get round to digitizing them ;)

There are the following demos available but other than what Dave Wakeling suggests above I don't know if Mick plays on them all.

01. General Public (Demo)
02. Tenderness (Demo)
03. Where's The Line? (Demo)
04. Never You Done That (Demo)
05. Hot You're Cool (Demo)
06. Anxious (Demo)
07. Hot You're Cool (Alt. Take)
08. Burning Bright (Unreleased)
09. Where's The Line? (Alt. Take)
10. Day To Day (Demo)
11. Never You Done That (Alt. Take)
12. Where's The Line? (Original Demo)
13. Anxious (Alt. Take)
14. Are You Leading Me On? (Demo)
15. Tenderness (12" Mix)
16. Limited Balance (Unreleased)
17. General Public (Remix)
18. David Jensen (Reprise)
19. General Public (Alt. Take #2)
Where would I look for those demos Marky? I'd like to give them a listen.
By the way, am I correct in thinking I saw Mick on tv with General Public, possibly for the GP single? TOTP?
Well I suppose their is always your friendly neighborhood Marky Dread.

Mick's not in any of the tv clips I've seen. There are two tv appearances on Youtube.
I lost this with a hard disc crash. Can anyone repost it please?

Dave I remastered these a while back. I only shared them with Laxman. I'll upload them when I get time.

Thanks Marky. I did have a file of demos which I lost, so now wonder where they came from.

I somehow missed both times this was uploaded, I'll keep an eye here for that remaster.

I uploaded those demos originally. But I've not uploaded the remasters. Will do later today.

Even if i don't Like General Public, i'm thankful to Marky Dread For the Great job he's doing here. He's a guide For The Clash material and related. Among the General Public demos no track sung by Mick and he doesn't play guitar with His own guitar style. I don't think Mick was feeling involved with General Public. Cut the Crap is a masterpiece if i compare it with General Public demos

Mick was not a member of General Public. He was really just helping out his old mates from The Beat getting their sound together.

Also most likely a way of keeping his hand in after leaving The Clash. Can't imagine Mick being in a band after The Clash where he was anything but the front man.
