Fort Bragg from Rat Patrol

Post by tommygun »

After reading Kris Needs review in Mojo, I'd like to get hold of a CD of this - can anyone point me in the right direction of a reputable scource?
Also- had to smile earlier at the Parade of Champions ( returning Olmpic team) - who were interviewed in Trafalgar Sq by Sue Barker...as 'London Calling'
played in the background...' The Ice age is Coming, The sun is zooming in, engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin...' - a suitably apacalypical vision of where we are with melting markets, glovbal warming and 3rd world food shortages...

...mind you I read some US Newtwoks used ' Rock the Casbah' as a soundtrack to the bombing of Baghdad back in the Gulf War...

Rat Patrol is near the bottom of the first post.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I understand it was the first song played on US Forces Radio in the first Gulf War.

Have to disagree, Jamaica is terrible!

Sloppy playing or not being overtly fond of reggae?

Sloppy playing, the band sound very under-rehearsed. Even Joe's normally reliable '82 vocals sound poor on this one.

I've always loved Jamaica mainly for the tracklist.

Same here. It's sloppy and awful but at least it's interesting.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

I've studied the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities but this place takes the fucking cake.

I think it's awfulness is actually charming, unlike some other shows where the awfulness is just awful.
