Jenny Haan's Lion
I've been looking for some form of sonic evidence of this band's existence. Jenny Haan was the singer for Babe Ruth, the Brit prog-rock band. Her band Lion, which formed after Babe Ruth split, gigged a lot in the UK in the late 70's, and from what I've read were a great live band. Unfortunately a studio recording never surfaced, and music nerds like me might never know what these guys sounded like. If anyone ever saw them or knows of any boots, I'd be most nerdily grateful.

Re: Jenny Haan's Lion
So if a prog rock band falls down in a wood, and nobody hears it fall, does it make a sound?

Yes, but it takes about 110 minutes spread out over three albums.Olaf wrote:So if a prog rock band falls down in a wood, and nobody hears it fall, does it make a sound?

Very cute! At last I thought I had a response, and look at what I get.
From what I've read, the Lion wasn't prog at all, but more of a pub rock/proto punk thing. That's why I'm so intrigued, because Jenny Haan was the most rock 'n' roll element of Babe Ruth.

Have you posted about this before or am I having a TLE moment? I don't get the sensations now that I'm on meds so I'm wondering if this is a real memory or a fake one.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

DJ randomly resurrected it today. This is the same thread I started to no avail on Interdependence Day of this year. Still no avail.eumaas wrote:Have you posted about this before or am I having a TLE moment? I don't get the sensations now that I'm on meds so I'm wondering if this is a real memory or a fake one.

On second thought, in a spiteful gesture, THIS THREAD SHALL NEVER DIE!!
By the way, I just found out that she recorded a single under the name Jenne Haan in '79, and also that she did backup vox on a Waterboys album. The search continues.
