Retro arcade games appreciation thread
Re: Retro arcade games appreciation thread
You guys should check out BARCADE next time you're in NYC..
It's a bar filled with classic arcade games..
It's hard to list them all, but I know they have:
Crystal Castles
Pole Position
Donkey Kong
Punch Out Arcade
Q-Bert
Centipede
Galaga
1942
Asteroids
Berserker
Rampage
Ms. Pac-Man
Dig Dug

There used to be this awesome arcade place in my hometown where I went all the time when I was a kid, but they've since turned it into a 'no kids allowed' pool hall...

I played this for about half and hour yesterday at an arcade. I kept getting stuck at the hurdles round.Heston wrote:I used to keep fit playing this....
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I don't know if it's still streaming, but Netflix IQ had a great documentary about Tetris players on it a while back.Wolter wrote:Holy shit.Flex wrote:That is insane.Dr. Medulla wrote:This defies comprehension: http://www.mentalfloss.com/article/5228 ... is-madness
