Has anyone fixed the speed of Heartbreak Hotel yet? Or has that already been posted before?

And thanks, boogie!

In Beating Time, his history of (his role in creating) Rock Against Racism, David Widgery asserts that at the infamous Rainbow gig (9 May 1977), Joe introduced "Police & Thieves" thus: "Last week 119,000 people voted National Front in London. Well, this next one's by a wog. And if you don't like wogs, you know where the bog is" (p. 70).

I cannot find any evidence to verify this statement, although the recording of the 8 May '77 Manchester show begins "Police & Thieves" with a chopped-off word by Joe, followed by, "This is a song written by a wog. So if you're one of the people who don't like wogs, you know where the back door is, right?"

So, two questions:

Does anyone have the complete intro to "P&T" from the Manchester gig?

If anyone was actually at the Rainbow show, can you recall Joe making the statement Widgery reports?

(In case you're wondering, I'm working on a book chapter for an anthology of Strummer studies.)

Speed corrected another Clash II show, Mecca Auditorium- Milwaukee 14-05-84.
The one from the megalist was running slow so a little bit of pitch correction applied.
For set list and review check on BMC, "A slightly above average audience sound. A bit flat but clear and very enjoyable. It has some slight noise. the first few songs are slightly more distant than later. the taper must have moved forward and this is England has some mic fiddling". Also the tape wobbles a bit on P&T

I don't know if I can use megaupload to upload as a free member, so I used mediafire. Someone can just download this and then reupload it through megaupload if it's necessary and then Hoy can put in the first post where the other NY Palladium links are, or anywhere that would be fine.

* Footage from 1979-09-21 - Palladium, New York City, NY VIDEO
Clips of:

It doesn't seem to be downloading for me. Also, not sure if it's necessary to make it 1080p. I think 480p (standard def) would be more appropriate considering the original source.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's downloading now.

Thanks. The 1080p version maintains the 640 x 480 dimensions, so that's good, too.

Heston wrote:I'm putting another shout out for the FM Bonds show, the one with Mick's vocal mixed high. I used to have it on cd but can't find it anywhere, the Megalist only has the "low Mick vocal" version. Seems too important a show to be missing from the Megalist, the low Mick version is pretty redundant.
I brought this to matedogs attention months ago and then agian a month ago but he did not respond.

It used to be on the megalist but when it was remasterd it fell came off.

Anyone have the orginal 1/24/82 Shibuya?? Im not a fan of the "remasterd" cut that has been posted. It sounds awful when I play it in the car and my friends agree. dispite the flaws it doesnt have the same depth or range. Way to compressed.

Thanks!..
