Strummer interview with Junco Partner?
There was a Strummer interview that a Grenadian, I think it could be that one guy in TFIU, once posted maybe a couple years ago on S-news of Strummer playing some acoustic songs at what sounded like a pizzeria. Junco Partner was played. I don't have it on this computer and can't find it on the WayBack Machine in Strummernews's archives.

Nope, that's not it. It was a less formal one. Not a radio show. Just an audio interview.
The guy who shared it on Snews was Spanish or Grenadian though and I even remember the site that linked to the downloads being a very basic black and white.

Another notable part of the interview was Joe talking about Nirvana. The interviewer asked which new groups he deemed good "rock music", and then go on to say rock music basically isn't supposed to be sugarcoated and about how good you can dance. He also mentioned Billie Holliday and Janis Jop
lin.
The guy that did the interview also sang along to Junco Partner which was ad-libbed.

I wonder if Strummer really was a Nirvana fan.

Re: Strummer interview with Junco Partner?
I can certainly believe Joe saying that he liked Nirvana, as it was the kind of thing all established rock acts had to say by unwritten law post Nevermind, or just after Cobain was punctual to his meeting with a shotgun, but I don't really see 'Rape Me' falling in between the usual Strummer playlist of scratchy folk music from the world over and the rock hits of the sixties.Heston wrote:Never had Joe down as a Metal fan.Silent Majority wrote:I wonder if Strummer really was a Nirvana fan.
