The Earplug Thread
The Earplug Thread
Happy now? Talk about earplugs all you fucking want. Fucking goddamn it
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

My friend had a kid yesterday. I left a bottle of Makers Mark and some ear plugs at his house for when he gets home.

My best friend's wife is pregnant with twins. He looks like a safe is about to fall on him and he doesn't even have a parasol for protection. They're shopping for a minivan tomorrow. I've told him that I'll give him a call in about eighteen years and we can start hanging out again.BostonBeaneater wrote:My friend had a kid yesterday. Re: The Earplug Thread
Sort of related: I bought a pair of kick ass customs six years ago and I have moved at least four times since then and the audiologist manages to track me down every time. I got a letter from them just yesterday and it wasn't forwarded.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: The Earplug Thread
I think I'm going to get some custom molded plugs for band rehearsal. Does anyone have any experience with these? I can't tell but it seems like my tinnitus might be getting worse in my right ear and I want to nip it in the bud. The Hear-Os must not be working properly.

Re: The Earplug Thread
I mentioned having customs in my post from fucking ten years ago above. Went to an audiologist and got suited up nicely. I got the 15db ones. At the time, they also had like 5db and 25db options. I went with the middle one. It seemed sufficient to remove any tinnitus during loud concerts and band practices. I didn't necessarily prefer the sound quality to the cheapos, but my audiophilia has always been poor. Certainly easier to pop in and go than wait for them to expand and how the seal is good.Kory wrote: ↑28 Aug 2018, 5:38pmI think I'm going to get some custom molded plugs for band rehearsal. Oh and I lost my customs a few years ago. Haven't replaced them yet, but I'm playing a lot less than I used to.

Re: The Earplug Thread
I'm inclined to go with 25's just for safety's sake, but maybe that would be too much. I think I'm going to bring a dB meter into rehearsal and see how much reduction I need.matedog wrote: ↑28 Aug 2018, 5:43pmI mentioned having customs in my post from fucking ten years ago above.
