It's the difference between a bad comedy and a bad action movie. The former is living death, the latter can be turned into something entertaining by mocking it. Which is, to a lesser degree, how I'd differentiate EQ and CtC. EQ is mostly just flat and uninspired, whereas CtC is an explosion of awful that begs to be ridiculed.
